Force Sensors for fine-stepped
measurement and control
The advantages of electro-mechanical actuators, particularly their excellent controlling properties, are exploited in materials testing devices, for pressing parts of in-the-loop test stands. All these tasks require exceptionally fine force control of the actuators combined with defined force relief and ultra-precise load switch-off. The measurement of the acting force in connection with mounting and joining operations with actuators ensures automatic quality assessment, thereby increasing process safety.
This is achieved by direct force measurement in the push-pull unit of the RACO electric actuator. Depending on the given design, the load cell is installed between the clevis and the push-pull rod or integrated within the bearing housing. The force sensors are adapted to the given electric actuator and the force measuring range. Specific design measures ensure a high level of safety from overloading the force measuring device.
Benefits seen at glance
- Direct measurement of the acting force
- High dynamic load range
- High sensivity
- Both tensile and pressure loads can be measured
